Iyengar Yoga was founded by B.K.S. Iyengar, the best recognised and most influential yoga teacher in the world.  It is one of the very traditional Hatha-yoga based styles, which focuses on alignment and teaches that there is a “right” way to do each posture.

The Iyengar method prides itself on making yoga accessible to every age and every body, irrespective of physical issues. The use of props as well as the very detailed instruction together with the systematic progression acknowledge the differences of each student`s abilities and allow them to develop everyone`s skills step by step, on a steady path to achieve correct alignment in each pose. 

Both J. Pilates and B.K.S. Iyengar believed that with proper alignment we can achieve balance in the body. And when the body is balanced, so is the mind. In both methods the physical aspects of the practice will guide the practitioner to the desired deep relaxation and meditative state of mind.
